Winner

Winner and his victorious field of struggle are complimentary. He is in fact made of the materials he is winning with. Or rather it is him who provokes that energy field.

Puzzled

This painting is somewhere on the line between a moving pattern and a figure. There is an invading contradiction between the rather fast wide strokes of colors and the soft, vulnerable figure who lies in beyond the lines.

'Look with One's Heart' - New Era in Art
Faze One - (From Disciplined to Personal)

My theme is of a rather Grand Scale with very intimate effect. It deserves a book which I may not write, but I’ll try to lie down before you my view of how the 21st century art could be like.

This deep sense of New Era is obvious to me as I understand what Art has been through the Twenties and long before through history and so the reasons in it are visible now; when we look with our hearts.

I must also point to the fact that almost each of the previous centuries has come with its new approach and new enthusiasm in those artists and whoever shared or was aware.

This New Era is initially my own instinctive agenda and I shall go into that too as it is the name I suggest - 'Look with One's Heart' .

My own instinct as is contradicts each of what we have had as Art until now to a certain extent.

Additionally and I will stress this point as we go further into my personal feeling toward the Arts and the stage of being which results in a New Era.

I must also admit how difficult it is for me to write about this; not because what I see is undefined or undisciplined in its nature but It is rather an insight that provokes it.

As far as Art goes for Art Experts, it was constantly put into categories and styles like Classic, Impressive and so forth and the act of disciplining enhanced during Modern Industry time when Science and Technologies disciplines where adopted by all when understanding and handling anything at all, including Art. One of two sides to this new Era in Art is by divorcing Science all together.

Here are few of more Art Disciplines by which we grew up in the Industrial/ Technological/ Scientific 19th- 20th centuries.

- 'Impressionism'; by which artists investigated also the behavior of light
- 'Expressionism'; in which we dared to rearrange and manipulate previously perceived items to form a message like Surreal, Cubist etc.
- 'Abstract'; where we either used items or color to drive away from definitions but create a Feel, Movement and Space.
- 'Ready Made'; when the Doer becomes (out of) the center of attention.
-'Concept' where the choice of means was decided by the Concept one tries to convey.
-'Installation' is where there is a synthesis of life itself into Art.
-'Curator's Art' is when Management's View is on Show.

You could of course find alternative or add ways in Art to this list yet for me, the most evident in all this is 'Disciplines'.

Note: This is my first time writing about it so please be patient until I make it entirely obvious if I can.

Faze Two - (Art Divorces Science)

The reason why Art makes this step; divorce science is because there is a cold source of feeling in and about science, and since heat is an option for us we must dismiss all science when we warm up.

Another example is the making an artwork with regards to any discipline, because we are then into general conception.

Where Science made this a root approach which says; any scientific experiment must be proven to the point where a pattern or a law was found to be considered as true, and must be re found - Art then if it follows becomes impersonal.

It becomes impersonal when we know before hand the other in a sense of how he or she acts or reacts, what are others views to any known issue and thus we gain recognition and become in control.

So eventually we are trapped in Knowing Ourselves and the rest around us and this is the source of corruption in Scientific / Discipline / Category approach and this is what many feel is corrupted in Technology all together.

So that is how art has been so far, at least starting from the second half of the 19th century and much more so today; is measured just like science in how universal a work of art can become and the more we feel that it an universally understood item, the more are taught to appreciate it.

And as this is going on, our most deep feeling are dismissed as invalid to the rest of the world on the basis of being 'mine' but 'not yours' and just as in science each test must eventually show a path we are now divorced form each other. So this coming Era in Arts, will declare a complete divorce from any path by definition, and although this sounds like a sort of rule, as this is still a scientific measure we rather try and say;

All that is true is 'happening', whether it is happening in us or between us.

This 'happening' between us is what I am about with you and how we are about together or apart.

And let us admit that what happening between you and me is nothing scientific and so this new Era in Art is personal.

Neither there's any discipline that can help us but instead we must relate, we must stand on our feet with our minds, we must express and the overall new feeling here is that; there is a chance for us to be!

Being is Being

Faze Three - (My personal side)

When I started real seriously with art I was 27 or so and it was in 1977. 1977 was the second half of the twenties
century when Art was already into what I call 'Curator's Art'.

The fact that I took so long to get into producing anything at all was because in all the venues that were available, in none of them I felt convenient. I had painted before then alright but, in 77 I started dealing with the utter brutality as I felt in most everywhere in Israel at the time but to me it looked like the entire humanity. So I had to resolve this deep conflict in myself at least and that is how I became serious.

And I am that type of artist and person who sees things globally or philosophically. So this is how I understand it now because in the center of attention of the Art Critique who I meant to meet and where I supposed to expose myself, there prevailed like deep cloud of smoke the cold measured scientific discipline - same feeling which I also feel like dreadful and deadly.

through the whole of that previous century, in Europe where in my mind the heart of Modern Art was, in that place many million of people were slaughtered by other humans.

This has been mostly a result of technology with which we produce the means of mass killing but more crucial is the fact there were other disciplines by which those who followed - they made it happen.

So that for me as person and artist, I deeply feel in my heart that in the next few years, at least in the Arts; there will develop such Antidote of sort that will deny this entire approach that led to all those atrocities and contradict it and uproot it altogether.

To do that, there must be a none discipline approach with face to each other, not face each other as we know each other but rather a real approaching with nothing in our hands. No weapons neither precognition nor false idealism or pride.

So together with this feeling, my art doesn't bow neither would it follow any discipline and it doesn't follow any precognition that might help you recognize it and understand it. Instead my art is personal.

I don't claim to fit to anyone and I am sure it is not like others do plus it is not universal in any form, not necessarily esthetic, nor abstract or figurative, yet my art is; about something very specific. Each work is a complete close circle that happens.

And if that has not been so clear in the early works in this group such as "Adam and Eve", it is much more so in "First Love" and "U Guitar" - on this page.
