Why Figuarative

The question here, I sense is this: Is there anything valuable at all in painting besides figurative realism? A parallel way to put it is: wouldn't it be right to take whatever we literally perceive with our eyes or able to hold and touch etc, as the only things that exist for real? Or further more: Couldn't it be so simple and true to say that the only things exist are those who are clear or obvious. (find more in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy ). How simple it would be to just clean our awareness and the world in which we live in, and eliminate what ever is unpleasant like pain, the wars. relationships and all that art. Anyway they are all in question, and there won’t be a definite conclusion soon.(see People with online papers in philosophy ) So how easy could it possibly be if a strait foreword rationalism is the only accepted system..? For getting the best results of the arts, why not say it loud and clear: "what is this massy fiasco with crazy folks like Kandinsky, or Pollock.. Why not put them in an institution where they would be mended and perhaps put back on the tracks?" Or: "what is this life? I never meant it to be this way... This is all so wrong" It used to be so pleasing in the past...when the world was young and simple, and artists were the gifted ones who illustrated and decorated our life? Why not keep the drawers with those nicely printed labels and drop those people playing the roll of artists down the bin?

Down on Figurative

Figurative - is our common and simple way to grab and handle the world.
This now needs an explanation. Why is figurative so popular? Because I see it has the exact gratifying features for you, the satisfied art lover or the client. But in the same time it could be an imprisonment for the spirit. Imprisonment in manipulation. because it is so easy to manipulate - you manipulate it. Manipulation is often used in flags and symbols and other times it is an aggressive intervention of delicate prossesses. I could easily see the great manifestation of free expressive, abstract, conceptual arts and all the rest of modern art, as a serious attempt to change that.Our 'common and simple' as it is, could be replaced now with many other ideas. The more, new and changing the better. Some who are ready to just manipulate the vulnerable and hesitant are disappointed. Preventing individuals of rights and freedom is not supported so blankly. certain unknown and possibly interesting evolutions are now permitted in some places - not everywhere !
Those who insist on the 'figurative' or on any other trend or artistic attitude in relation to 'our common and simple ways', may also be found guilty for the offensive neglect which makes our world full with divisions and wars.
